Being betrayed by your husband can cause a woman to feel like nothing will ever be okay again. If you’re asking yourself, “How do I start healing from betrayal trauma?” here are 3 things you need to know.

    1. Begin Healing from Betrayal Trauma: Surround Yourself With Safe People

It’s essential that you seek support from safe people – meaning those who support you, validate you, and believe you.

Neutral folks, in other words, those who support both you AND the abuser, or who maintain a relationship with the abuser, are not considered safe.

    2. Spend Time Listening – To Yourself

Betrayal trauma victims begin to heal as trust is re-established with self.

Your sacred, internal warning system is a powerful force that you can trust. Lean into your own feelings, needs, beliefs, and instincts.

    3. Take Care of Your Body

By listening to and tending to the sensations and needs of your body, you may begin to experience rapid healing and growth. Many victims experience increased peace as they practice:

    • Meditation
    • Yoga
    • Focused stretching
    • Meditative walking
    • Dancing
